Position Summary

Under administrative direction, independently perform physician examinations for a broad range of clients to diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and other disorders. Responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Examine patient and obtain medical history from patient, parents, guardians to prepare patient profile.
• Review developmental and medical history of patient.
• Participate in diagnostic staffing to correlate findings, determine diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment recommendations.
• Discuss findings and recommendations with client, parents, agencies, etc. as needed.
• Responsible for medication management (includes but is not limited to writing prescriptions, monitoring efficacy, monitoring adverse reactions.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Works with staff, as a team, to provide high-quality care to our patients by identifying and assessing health concerns, examining the patient based on the health concern, and creating a plan specific to the patient needs.
• Develops and maintains an awareness of the Chronic Care Model Processes in order to reduce health disparities within our communities.
• Provides clinical consultation to other staff members and supervision of staff and students as assigned.
• Demonstrates adherence to National Patient Safety Goals and plan.
• Participates in quality improvement activities to assess, monitor and improve program services as well as mandatory in-services and drills, attends staff meetings and other training, including appropriate age-specific educational training offered on a regular basis for professional development.

Scheduled Hours: Based on Clinic Needs

• 40 Hours per Week
• Monday - Friday with a weekly evening rotation and a monthly Saturday rotation

How You’ll Help Patients:

• Provide high quality medical care to the patients of the FQHC in accordance with Specialty Certification and FQHC Policies and Procedures.
• Is fully supportive of all quality initiatives.
• Is fully receptive to other responsibilities as assigned.
• Provides all forms of leadership, supervision, direction, training and role modeling to all supportive staff (eg: NA, MA, LPN, RN, PA, NP).
• Works to assure that all responsible areas are fully compliant with all applicable federal and state rules, regulations and laws.
• Ensures that all responsible areas are in compliance with all FQHC objectives, systems, policies, procedures, directives and contractual agreements as indicated by supervisors, contracts, training personnel and the FQHC policies and procedures.

• Provides on call coverage and rounding on inpatients (as appropriate).
• Provides care in age appropriate fashion according to one’s specialty.
